The Nature Coast State Trail
Borders The Riverwalk of Fanning Springs. From your home you can access miles of breathtaking trails for your bike, your horse or on foot. The Nature Coast State Trail lies along the western boundary of our community in Fanning Springs and offers 30 paved trail miles, traveling form the city of Trenton to Cross City and then south to Chiefland. Enjoy the natural beauty of North Florida as you walk across the old trestle bridge and the historic Suwannee River which was developed by the state of Florida for horses, joggers and bicyclers. Suwannee River  
Take a fishing pole and walk along the Nature Coast State Trail to the River. A modern boat ramp is located about one mile from your home. Once on the river, you can head south to the Gulf of Mexico. Or trailer your boat to the Gulf, just 30 minutes away.

Fanning Springs State Park 
Located on the east bank of the historic Suwannee River in Levy County, this inviting source of cool, clear water has drawn people for thousands of years. Many species of wildlife, such as the otter and the currently endangered West Indian manatee, have used the spring far longer.

Fanning Springs is one of Florida's first-magnitude springs, releasing approximately 69 million gallons of water per day. The water has a constant temperature of about 72 degrees.

Fanning Springs State Park is managed by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection as one of Florida's premier parks. In addition to the breathtaking spring and river access, the park offers picnic pavilions, a playground, a volleyball court, a hiking trail, and a softball field. A newly-completed boardwalk winds around the spring area, ending in a covered gazebo at the river's edge.

Most of the area is in its natural or near-natural state, making it a haven for nature lovers, wildlife watchers, and outdoor sports enthusiasts alike. In addition to creating a lush landscape and a wonderful wildlife population, the rivers, springs and Gulf are the key to the area's rich agricultural and aqua-cultural traditions. The Riverwalk of Fanning Springs is only 30 minutes from the Gulf of Mexico with its beautiful salt creeks and estuaries, home to both fish and wading birds. Pleasant hours can be spent drifting around the many small islands and fishing in the creeks or offshore in the Gulf. From salty little fishing villages on the coast to quaint island towns and hamlets, the day traveler will find little-known and long-remembered delights. Shops, restaurants, museums and special events throughout the year provide one pleasant surprise after another. And all of these opportunities exist within easy driving distance of The Riverwalk of Fanning Springs!
